Join us for “Barks & Talks,” an engaging workshop hosted by the esteemed Canine Communication Studies Department at Bark & Brand University. This one-day event is designed for both novice and experienced dog companions who wish to deepen their understanding of how dogs communicate and how we can better communicate with them.

Admission: Free for BBU students and faculty; $15 for public attendees

Workshop Highlights:

• Morning Session (10:00 AM – 12:30 PM): Understanding Your Dog’s Language
  Led by Dr. Buddy Barksdale, explore the fundamentals of canine body language, vocalizations, and behavior cues. Learn to interpret what your dog is saying through their barks, tail wags, and much more.
• Lunch Break (12:30 PM – 1:30 PM): Enjoy a complimentary dog-friendly buffet on the lush campus green.
• Afternoon Session (1:30 PM – 4:00 PM): Enhancing Human-Canine Communication
  Participate in interactive activities that apply your morning learning to real-life scenarios. Engage in role-playing exercises, guided interactions with therapy dogs, and a Q&A session to address your specific communication challenges.

• Canine Guests: Several well-trained therapy dogs will be present to aid in demonstrations and provide practical learning experiences.
• Resource Fair: Check out our resource fair featuring local pet businesses, adoption agencies, and BBU’s own student-led startups focused on pet innovations.
